Teachers and Admin: How to Add the Gallopade Course to your My Courses Widget

In order to have access to the resources within the Gallopade grade level course, you must first add the course to your My Courses Widget.

Setting Up the Courses for Teachers with Classes:

  • If you have classes loaded into Gallopade already (ClassLink, Clever, SchoolDay)
  • If you have classes loaded manually, you may need to create new classes.
  • Sync your roster to update student enrollments in case of Google Classroom users.

Setting Up the Courses for Teachers without Classes:

  • If you need access to Gallopade courses before your classes have been loaded into Gallopade (ClassLink, Clever, SchoolDay or manual) OR
  • You are a non-rostered teacher that does not have any classes but need access to Gallopade courses.
 

Setting Up the Courses For Teachers With Classes

When you first log in or if you haven't yet assigned any courses to your account, you'll need to set up your course alignments on the Manage Courses page from the My Courses widget

 

After logging in to the GO! application, you will see the "My Courses" widget in the dashboard with the associated courses.  If you have not associated/selected any courses for the new school year, you will see a message to Set up Courses.

To add the Gallopade Course to your "My Courses" widget, the user can follow one of these two ways:

A. Click the cog wheel icon located in the top-right corner of the green "My Courses" widget. (OR)

B. Select the "Set up Courses" button available within the "My Courses" widget.

Upon navigating to the Manage Courses page, the user will see the class names displayed alongside the corresponding Period , School and Roster information. To proceed, the user needs to click on the "Gallopade Course" dropdown.  The teacher can also notice the number of active classes / sections available to pair with a Gallopade Course. 

The "Gallopade Courses" dropdown displays the courses assigned by the district via 3rd-party rostering services such as Clever or ClassLink OR if they have been added manually. To select the desired Gallopade Course, the user must click on the checkbox next to the course name.  

Typically, the teacher selects only one appropriate Gallopade Course to align per Class.  However, the teacher can add more than one if desired.

Selecting the Gallopade Courses from the dropdown will associate the courses to the classes. 

Associated courses can be removed by clicking the ‘X’ icon next to the course name. 

 

 

When setting up your Gallopade courses, remember you can view your class roster by clicking the "View Roster" link next to each class. This helps you confirm which students are enrolled before assigning content, ensuring all your students have proper access to the materials you select.

 

Manually Created Classes

If teacher classes are not being imported from a third-party rostering service (ie: ClassLink, Clever or SchoolDay), then the teacher many need to create a class using the Class Creation dashboard in order for a class(s) to be displayed in the Manage Courses Screen.

Manually created teacher accounts will have to create a class to reflect in the Manage Courses modal. 

 

 

View-Only Courses

You may add additional courses to view from the widget by adding them in the View-Only courses section.  This is useful if the teacher has

  • Classes/Sections not yet rostered (ie: from ClassLink or Clever).
  • The teacher wishes to view an off-grade course that they will not associate with a class(s).

In the View- only Courses tab, the courses can be selected from the Gallopade Course dropdown to assign it to the teacher. 

The course(s) associated with the classes are greyed out and are not available for selection in the View-Only Courses tab. 

 

Once the user completes assigning / removing the courses in the View-only Courses tab, they should click the "Save" button located in the top-right corner of the Manage Courses page.  

A success message will be notified to the teacher.

To navigate to the Dashboard page, either select the "Dashboard" menu on the left side or click the "Home" link in the breadcrumbs. Notice that courses are added to the My Courses widget. 

 

Editing My Courses

After adding at least one course (to a class or under the View-Only courses section), you may always return to the Manage Courses screen to edit/modify your selections by clicking cog wheel icon located in the top-right corner of the green "My Courses" widget.

 
 

Setting Up the Courses For Teachers Without Classes

When you first log in or if you haven't yet assigned any courses to your account, you'll need to set up your course alignments on the Manage Courses page from the My Courses widget

 

To add the Gallopade Course to your "My Courses" widget, the user can follow one of these two ways:

A. Click the cog wheel icon located in the top-right corner of the green "My Courses" widget. (OR)

B. Select the "Set up Courses" button available within the "My Courses" widget.

 

Upon navigating to the Manage Courses page, if the teacher is not associated with any class, the user will notice a message, “You have the following 0 active class sections available to pair with a Gallopade Course”. 

Selecting the Gallopade Courses from the dropdown will associate the courses to the teacher's account. 

In the View- only Courses tab, the courses can be selected from the Gallopade Course dropdown to assign it to the teacher.

Click on the Save button located in the top-right corner of the Manage Courses page to save your selections.  

Click on the Home page and notice that the added courses are reflected in the My Courses widget.

 

Editing My Courses

After adding at least one course (to a class or under the View-Only courses section), you may always return to the Manage Courses screen to edit/modify your selections by clicking cog wheel icon located in the top-right corner of the green "My Courses" widget.
