How do teachers export data from Gradebook to Excel or CSV format ?

Updated July 28th, 2025

Teachers have the option to export gradebook details in either .xls or .csv format, using either point-based or percentage-based grading.

Clicking on Export button from the right side of the gradebook will display 2 options: Excel , CSV.

Exporting Gradebook as Excel

Percentage / Points View Tab :

Depending on the selected view (points or percentage), the gradebook will be exported as an Excel sheet. Clicking the Excel option will initiate the download of the .xls file to your system folder.

After opening the .xls file (in either MS Excel or Google Sheets) , you can notice two sheets displayed as tabs. One with Percentage View or Points View sheet  (depending on your selection) and Grading Rules sheet.

Percentage View of .xls

Point View of .xls

The exported sheet has all gradebook content as it was present in the application gradebook including the color codes. Hovering over each cell will display the Status and Point or Percentage calculation.

Grading Rules Tab:

This tab displays the calculation information for the Gallopade Gradebook in both Point and Percentage View.
